An Action Word
Wisdom can be attained in a number of ways. Ideally, a young man will learn from others’ mistakes and from wise council. You can offer your experiences and your wise council and hope it sinks in. But our young men will reach a point when they think they know it all, and we will have to step back and let them learn the hard way. Wisdom, unfortunately, is most often gained through experience – trial and error. In the mean time, share what you can while they’re willing to listen. |

Walk With the Wise
It’s hard to watch our kids conform to the selfish behaviors of the typical peer group. While our youth must learn to stand against those influences, today’s cultural environment is more than we should expect them to handle. We must guide them away from the bad company and steer them to appropriate peer-group friends. And we must teach them seek friends and mentors who will offer wisdom and counsel. |
